Ai wo Torimodose!! / Lupin Sansei no Theme

Twenty years after the 1984 single, Crystal King re-recorded “Ai wo Torimodose!!” for TEAM Entertainment, as part of the publisher’s series of re-recordings of theme songs by their original performers. By then, Crystal King was nothing more than a name carried by Mr. Yoshizaki alone, as Masayuki Tanaka had left the group: the obi states it bluntly, “the legendary song is reborn as a self-cover, twenty years later.”

The second track is surprising: a faithful cover of the Lupin III theme, composed by Yūji Ōno, with lyrics by Kazuya Senke. Both tracks are arranged by Naoki Ichikawa, who also plays keyboards, with a brass section and backing vocals, under the production of Masayoshi Okawa. The jacket, a drawing of Kenshiro, bears the copyright of Buronson, Tetsuo Hara, and Coamix.

The disc contains five tracks: the two songs, their karaoke versions, and an instrumental version of the Lupin theme, contrary to the four listed in most catalogs.
