Hokuto no Ken Premium Best
Double CD released by Pony Canyon on July 24, 2002, at a price of 3,675 yen. The first disc, titled “Ongaku-hen,” compiles forty-one music tracks from the 1984 TV series, including the TV-size and instrumental versions of the theme songs. The second disc opens with fourteen songs (the theme songs from both series and the 1986 movie, along with insert songs by Akira Kamiya, Yuriko Yamamoto, and Masato Shimon), then follows with seven music tracks from Hokuto no Ken 2 and three tracks from the 1984 series under the heading “Ongaku-hen Plus.”
The obi highlights the complete reissue of the Ongaku-hen I and II albums, which had never been released on CD before, and the inclusion of spoken lines by Kenshiro: the booklet credits Akira Kamiya for dialogue on three tracks of the first disc. The booklet details the composition, arrangement, lyric, and vocal credits for each track. A rental-only pressing was released on the same day.
