CRAZY HEADS, LINDA’s signature line
CRAZY HEADS is not exclusive to Hokuto no Ken; it is a figure collection developed by LINDA, which applied this bobble-head concept across several iconic Japanese manga licenses, notably Crows and Worst by Hiroshi Takahashi. The principle remains the same: transform characters known for their toughness into stocky, big-headed versions whose heads gently sway once the figure is set down. A caricatural treatment that works all the better on hardened warriors like those of Hokuto.
A lineup in five waves
Each figure stands approximately 27 cm tall, is molded in painted PVC, and comes with a display base. The HnK collection was released across five numbered waves, covering the major characters of the series. Kenshiro kicks things off (Vol.1), notably with a “Kekkonshiki” (結魂式, wedding ceremony) version in a limited edition originally sold at an event celebrating the franchise’s 25th anniversary. Next come Toki (Vol.2), the Holy Emperor Souther (Vol.3, released in February 2009), Raoh (Vol.4), and finally Rei (Vol.5).
Two versions per character
Each character in the lineup comes in two variants: a standard Dive version and a “ZACCA PAP” version, which features different clothing and shoe colors. Enough to double the fun (and the collection) for fans of these quirky heads.
With their unlikely look and their bobbing heads, the CRAZY HEADS hold a unique place in Hokuto no Ken merchandising: that of an affectionate, tongue-in-cheek nod to characters we are far more used to seeing slicing through enemies than grinning foolishly on a shelf.
