Ten no Haoh, the destiny of Raoh
Published in Weekly Comic Bunch and drawn by Yukiyuki Nagata, Ten no Haoh – Hokuto no Ken Raoh Gaiden (five volumes) tells, from Raoh’s perspective, the period when he was not yet the dreaded Ken-oh of the original manga. It depicts the founding of the Ken-oh army, his encounter with his loyal steed Kokuoh-go, the emerging conflict with his brother Toki, and his rivalry with Souther. An epic retelling of Raoh’s conquest, sometimes tinged with echoes of the warlord Oda Nobunaga’s life, which also incorporates characters from the animated series Shin Kyuseishu Densetsu.
Three characters from the spin-off
The line, in pre-painted and pre-assembled PVC, features three figures from Ten no Haoh. Raoh appears in his “young conqueror” version (approximately 26 cm), inspired by the animated adaptation. He is accompanied by Souga, his strategist, a cool-headed and analytical man nicknamed “Souga the Swift,” and Reina, Souga’s sister, captain of the Ken-oh’s personal guard and a formidable swordswoman wielding two blades. Both hailing from the Land of Rasetsu, they form the core of Raoh’s companions in this story.
Each of the three characters comes in two versions: a standard Dive version and a “ZACCA P.A.P” version with different colors. The Raoh variant is subtitled “the legend of the young Ken-oh” (若き日の拳王伝説). In total, six pieces to collect for fans of this lesser-known corner of the Hokuto no Ken universe.
