Hokuto no Ken in Crossover Games
Famicom Jump : Hero Retsuden ファミコンジャンプ 英雄列伝 (1989)
Released on February 25, 1989 by Bandai for the twentieth anniversary of Weekly Shōnen Jump, this role-playing game is the very first crossover from the magazine. The player controls an original character who travels through a threatened world, aided by the magazine’s heroes. Kenshiro is one of the playable companions, alongside Goku, Arale, Seiya and Kinnikuman, and the game even features a “Hokuto village” occupied by raiders. A sequel, Famicom Jump II: Saikyō no Shichinin, followed in 1991.
Jump Ultimate Stars ジャンプアルティメットスターズ (2006)
On the Nintendo DS, this fighting game pits a massive roster of Jump characters against each other in the form of manga panels. Released on November 23, 2006, it follows Jump Super Stars with an expanded cast, and it is the installment that incorporates Hokuto no Ken, with Kenshiro and Raoh being playable, while Toki, Rei, Yuria, Bat and Lin appear as support characters.
J-Stars Victory VS Jスターズ ビクトリーバーサス (2014)
Published by Bandai Namco for the forty-fifth anniversary of Jump, this arena fighting game was released on March 19, 2014 on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. Kenshiro and Raoh are playable in three dimensions. It is also the first Jump crossover game distributed in the West, under the title J-Stars Victory VS+ in 2015, with an arcade mode added for this international release.
Jump Force ジャンプフォース (2019)
Released on February 15, 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC for the fiftieth anniversary of Jump, this fighting game blends the magazine’s heroes with real-world settings, featuring realistic-looking three-dimensional models. Kenshiro is part of the base roster and is presented as a close-range fighter.
Fatal Fury : City of the Wolves 餓狼伝説 City of the Wolves (2026)
The most recent crossover goes beyond the scope of Jump: Kenshiro joins SNK’s fighting game Fatal Fury : City of the Wolves (released in April 2025) as a downloadable character, the final addition to Season Pass 2, in June 2026. Announced at AnimeJapan 2026, this appearance ties in with the new animated adaptation of Hokuto no Ken in 2026. In the game, Kenshiro arrives in South Town to face Wolfgang Krauser.
