The ASM (Animation Sofvi Museum) series by Medicom Toy is built on a simple idea: manufacturing today the sofubi anime figures from the 1980s and 1990s that never saw the light of day back then. Hokuto no Ken was the second subject covered, and the series keeps returning to it regularly, lining up wave after wave five characters from the Land of Shura. All are sculpted by HaRu in a retro deformed style and stand approximately 30 cm tall.

The sofubi of the 80s
The concept behind the series was born from a gap: in the 1990s, sofubi anime figures had virtually disappeared in favor of chogokin and action figures, depriving titles like Hokuto no Ken of the retro toy treatment they would have deserved. Medicom fills that void with sculptures featuring slightly oversized heads, deliberately simple and old school paint jobs, as if they came straight off a toy store shelf in 1987. The choice of Hokuto no Ken as the second installment of the series, right after Devilman, speaks volumes about its status as a generational icon.
Notably, all the characters selected come from the same arc: the Land of Shura. Kenshiro kicked off the series in late 2024 in his black outfit from after Raoh‘s death. Early 2025 saw the two Rasho Han and Hyoh join him, followed in early 2026 by the master of Hokuto Ryuken Kaioh and the rebel Shachi, both in an imposing format of approximately 29.5 cm. A bold editorial choice that bypasses the saga’s most expected figures to build a collection entirely dedicated to its final arc. The series also marks the debut of sculptor HaRu, who made his official start under that name with these pieces.
Finding them today
Sold to order through the 1/6 Keikaku shop and the Medicom Toy e-shop, these figures later turn up on the Japanese secondary market: Mercari, Yahoo Auctions Japan, and specialized sofubi platforms. With the ASM series continuing at a pace of several waves per year, these Hokuto no Ken releases could very well see other characters from the saga join them in the future.
