As part of its Mega Sofubi Advance line, Kaiyodo produced large figures approximately 50 cm tall dedicated to Hokuto no Ken, featuring Kenshiro and his renegade brother Jagi. These are imposing pieces whose major selling point lies in their exceptional paintwork.

The Mega Sofubi Advance concept
The Mega Sofubi Advance line stands out through a rare level of quality for soft vinyl. Where mass-produced figures often feature mechanical paint application, Kaiyodo developed a production process using hand-painted finishing, giving each piece a result close to a one-of-a-kind item. The studio also highlights molds of unusual sharpness for soft vinyl, faithful to the prototype to the point of evoking a resin reproduction, without the distortions typical of mass production. The pieces were sculpted by the Eichu Keikaku studio.
Kenshiro and Jagi
The first piece, Kenshiro (MSA-008, May 2016), reproduces the colors from the manga volume covers, with pronounced skin shading. It was followed by Jagi (MSA-009, June 2016), the disfigured brother turned enemy, whose sculpture surpasses his younger brother’s in both volume and presence. Standing approximately 50 cm tall, these full-body figures are non-articulated finished products intended for display.
The Redeco versions
In 2019, Kaiyodo reissued both figures in “Redeco” (redecoration) versions with revised color tones. Kenshiro Redeco Ver. (MSA-016, March 2019, 19,800 yen before tax) features lighter, softer skin tones than the original version, with more pronounced contrast. Jagi Redeco Ver. (MSA-017, March 2019) received the same treatment. These variants allow collectors to see both characters in a new light while retaining the original sculpture.
The Mega Sofubi reissue
In April 2024, Kaiyodo brought Jagi back to its catalog as part of its Mega Sofubi line, a reissue of the original piece. Still standing approximately 50 cm tall, made of PVC, it features a dedicated base with magnetic attachment (magnet and iron plate). Priced at 44,000 yen tax included, this reissue allows latecomers to get their hands on the imposing third brother of Hokuto, long sought after on the secondhand market.
