In December 2020, Kaiyodo returned to the bust format with Kenshiro and Raoh, two painted resin pieces sculpted by Masahiko Kagawa, one of the company’s modellers.

A joint production
The two busts were planned by Kaiyodo with Gomora Kick, manufactured by Model Master and distributed in Japan by Platz. Orders ran from 18 September to 20 October 2020, for delivery in December, at 13,900 yen before tax each. Each bust comes with its base and an illustrated tin case for storage.
Kenshiro and Raoh by Masahiko Kagawa
Kaiyodo presents the pair as a three-dimensional take on Tetsuo Hara’s artwork. On Kenshiro, the focus is on the musculature and the hair. On Raoh, on the texture of Ken-oh’s helmet and cape. Despite the format, the maker claims as much presence as a full-body figure.

Not to be confused with
Kaiyodo had already devoted busts to the same pair in 2007, the 1/6 scale Kenshiro and Raoh busts, in polystone, sculpted by Matsuura Ken. A different sculptor, material and scale.
