In 2008, Medicom Toy and Kaiyodo joined forces on Hokuto no Ken within the Real Action Heroes (RAH) line, the famous 1/6 scale articulated dolls standing approximately 30 cm tall with faux-leather clothing. Medicom itself presents the series as a “miraculous collaboration” (奇跡のコラボレーション).

Three companies for one figure
The division of roles is spelled out in black and white on the product sheets. Kaiyodo sculpts the base prototype. The PERFECT-STUDIO studio rearranges it at 1/6 scale and designs the articulated prototype. Seamstress Akimoto Mieko crafts the costumes, cut from faux leather to reproduce even the folds of the manga’s clothing. Everything rests on the RAH301 “Massive 3” body, nearly all of whose parts were re-sculpted for the series in order to carry the larger-than-life musculatures of Hokuto no Ken. This body was not born with the license; Medicom had already been selling it bare since February 2005 under reference No.000, and the line uses its third generation.
Kenshiro, Rei, then Jagi
The first entry, Kenshiro (RAH333), was released in April 2008 at 18,900 yen. It comes with five pairs of interchangeable hands. Rei (RAH365) followed in May, at the same price.
An off-series piece then slipped in between. The RAH409 was released on August 3, 2008 at the Summer Wonder Festival, for the license’s 25th anniversary. This second Kenshiro was limited to 600 units, 200 sold on-site and 400 online.
Jagi (RAH430) closed out the collaboration in May 2009, at 19,950 yen. His official description opens with his iconic line, “Say my name, go on!” He comes with his pump-action shotgun, several interchangeable hands, and his helmet is removable.
All four dolls have been long sold out. They are sought after on the Japanese secondary market, with Mandarake and Yahoo Auctions Japan leading the way.
