Gameplay

Designed as a gacha RPG on smartphone, the game relives the manga’s storyline through memory fragments linked to the characters. Battles take place in 3D and rely on a simple control scheme: a one-button action, timed precisely, to chain combos and unleash iconic techniques and secret moves. Recruiting fighters uses a random draw system (gacha), with the largest playable roster ever offered by a game in the franchise, extending to supporting characters like Heart. The game allows players to form teams that would be impossible in the original work, bringing together allies and enemies from the story.

Developed and published by Sega, this mobile game was released for the thirty-fifth anniversary of Hokuto no Ken, under the artistic supervision of Tetsuo Hara, with character illustrations created entirely for the occasion. Its opening theme features “Ai wo Torimodose !!”, the iconic theme song from the first TV series, in a cover performed by Takamizawa Toshihiko, of the group THE ALFEE. The game had surpassed 700,000 pre-registrations before its release.
