Game system

The main screen is mobile and can move toward the player. In its normal position, three screens form a panoramic view; the side screens tilt vertically while the center one springs forward. A second mechanism lowers the blue dragon from above and raises the Tenra from below, both meeting in the center to release a dragon.

Four sequences dominate the gameplay. The “Tenki,” which gives the machine its name, is the iconic golden harbinger sign of the series. The harbinger line repeats the words of Kasumi Kenshiro. The Kirin motif is Sammy’s signature. And the showdown against Liu Zongwu, presented as the hero’s greatest rival, constitutes the most powerful sequence.

Of note

The machine develops the narrative aspect more than its predecessors. By fulfilling certain conditions, the player unlocks special episodes dedicated to each of the rivals, up to a particularly sought-after third episode. Music tracks are also unlocked progressively, eventually offering a choice among around ten titles. The chain mode is named after the Chinese line “you are already dead,” and original manga panels appear during close-ups on Kenshiro. A dedicated sequence announces Yasaka’s arrival with the rising of the moon, and the most favorable zone bears Kenshiro’s Shanghainese nickname, Yan Wang.

A lighter version, the Digihane CRA Souten no Ken Tenki, was put into service on February 5, 2018.
