Shirogane no Seija : Hokuto no Ken Toki Gaiden (銀の聖者 北斗の拳 トキ外伝) is a manga in six volumes, serialized from September 2007 to December 2008 in Weekly Comic Bunch. The art is by Nagate Yuka, based on an original concept by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara. The third gaiden in the series launched in that magazine, after those dedicated to Raoh and Rei, this story devoted to Toki follows the Saint of Hokuto from the Village of Miracles to Cassandra, up to the fraternal duel that closes his legend.
Synopsis
Across a world plagued by dreadful misery, a man travels using the secrets of Hokuto Shinken to save the most destitute, like a saint with silver hair. Accompanied by his companion Ramo, he decides to stop at a village where those awaiting death have gathered. Thanks to the care provided by this savior, the place is renamed "the village of miracles" and arouses the greed of bandits, but also of a certain Amiba… Here begins the legend of Toki, the most gifted master in the 2,000-year history of Hokuto!
The promise of the two brothers
The story develops what the original manga only sketched out. Toki establishes his clinic, the village becomes the village of miracles, and the first enemy is Amiba, humiliated, who pushes Zeed and his raiders to attack while Jagi observes the chaos from afar. The village holds firm. Amiba then returns under the mask of the savior, and the story reveals that even the extermination of a band of raiders, seemingly providential, was engineered by him. His downfall precedes the arrival of a threat of another magnitude, Kenoh in person, who imprisons his brother in Cassandra.
The prison-city opens the long Reminiscences arc, the return to the days before the war, the succession trial, the Death Star revealed to Toki, Raoh's ambitions, the feelings of Kenshiro and Yuria, and the sacrifice that makes Toki the one who yields the path. Returning to the present, the story fulfills the promise exchanged between the brothers, the final duel in which Toki stakes his life against the king of the fist, up to the tears that Raoh lets show. The epilogue lets the Saint of Hokuto depart to await his star, after having shown the way to Kenshiro.
The village of miracles
The story develops the village of miracles arc sketched out in the original manga and gives it its own characters, Ramo and Lucas. It also features Jûza and Zeed, whom the original work did not involve in this period.
