Bask
Bask (バスク) is a regional governor of the Celestial Empire in Hokuto no Ken 2. A loyal servant of Jakoh, he actively participates in the system of terror established by the Empire, notably overseeing the slave trade and the repression against the Hokuto Army. A brutal and arrogant fighter, voiced in Japanese by Masaru Ikeda, Bask is known among fans for his design directly inspired by American professional wrestler Hulk Hogan.
A governor in the service of Jakoh
Bask governs a region under the direct authority of Jakoh and zealously applies the ruthless methods of the Celestial Empire. In order to crush all forms of resistance, he places a large bounty on the heads of Rin and Bat, whose Hokuto Army has been carrying out numerous attacks against the Empire's slave convoys. When his subordinates mistakenly capture a couple believed to be Bat and Rin, Bask orders their public execution at the coliseum to make an example of them, confident that this will crush the resistance. Like several other officers of the regime, he takes advantage of the prevailing chaos to consolidate his personal power and rules through fear and violence.
The battle against Kenshiro
Kenshiro arrives at the colosseum just in time to save the hostages and reveals himself to Bask, who realizes that it is the successor of Hokuto Shinken who has dismantled the Empire's districts one by one. After the death of his lieutenant Barona at the hands of Kenshiro, Bask decides to face the successor of Hokuto himself. Convinced he can prevail thanks to his Kazan Gokuaku Sō (華山獄握爪, "Strangling Prison Claw of Mount Hua"), he confronts him directly, but his technique proves completely ineffective against the mastery of Hokuto Shinken.
Kenshiro neutralizes Bask by gruesomely twisting his arm back before finishing him off by striking a vital point on his forehead, splitting him into two halves. Through this battle, Bask once again illustrates the inevitable downfall of the Empire's tyrannical leaders in the face of Kenshiro and the Hokuto Army.
