Huey

Huey (ヒューイ), also known as Huey of the Wind, is one of the five members of the Nanto Goshasei in Hokuto no Ken. Leader of the Wind Brigade and protector of Yuria, he masters a fighting style capable of manipulating air currents to slash his opponents. Swift, loyal and determined, Huey is the first of the Goshasei to confront Raoh in order to slow Ken-Ō's advance toward the capital of Nanto.

The Nanto Goshasei of Wind

Huey is a member of the Nanto Goshasei, the five guardians tasked with protecting the Last General of Nanto, Yuria. Each member of the group is associated with an element, and Huey represents wind. Leading the Wind Brigade, he commands his men against the armies of Ken-Ō as they advance toward the capital of Nanto.

In the anime, Huey appears accompanied by his younger brother Shion, who serves as second-in-command within the Brigade. He also shares a close bond with Shuren, the Goshasei of Fire, whom he considers his "star brother."

The master of Gosha Fūretsu Ken

Huey uses the Gosha Fūretsu Ken (五車風裂拳, "Fist of the Five Chariot Winds that Rend"), a wind-based martial art that allows him to manipulate air currents to slice his enemies or increase his own speed. His style favors swiftness and ranged attacks over raw power.

Unlike many warriors in Hokuto no Ken, Huey also shows a degree of compassion toward his opponents. In the anime, he expresses regret on several occasions after being forced to kill in combat, highlighting a more humane personality than that of many fighters of the era.

The battle against Raoh

After the death of Toki, the Nanto Goshasei receive orders to intervene in order to prevent Raoh from continuing his conquest. Huey then launches several attacks against Ken-Ō's troops in the hope of drawing out their leader directly.

When Raoh finally appears on the battlefield, Huey confronts him without hesitation despite the gap in power between them. Using wind techniques to slow down the Hokuto army, he attempts to buy time for the other Goshasei and for Kenshiro.

But despite his determination, Huey is unable to compete with Raoh's overwhelming power. The latter kills him with a single blow, shattering every bone in his body. Before dying, however, Huey warns Raoh that the other stars of Nanto will continue the fight until his downfall.

A warrior loyal unto death

Although his appearance remains relatively short, Huey marks the history of the Nanto Goshasei through his courage and his loyalty toward Yuria. His death opens the series of sacrifices made by the guardians of Nanto in order to protect their General and prepare the final confrontation between Kenshiro and Raoh. Thanks to his wind-based style and his role in the battle against Ken-Ō, Huey remains one of the most iconic members of the Nanto Goshasei among fans of Hokuto no Ken.
