Kiba Daiō (牙大王), also known as the Father of the Clan or Great King of the Fangs, is the chief of the Kiba tribe, a clan of savage raiders who terrorize the regions near the village of Mamiya. Master of Kazan Kakuteigi, an ancestral wrestling art that allows him to harden his flesh like steel, he is the father of all his warriors. With extraordinary physical power, Kiba Daiō is one of the first major antagonists faced by Kenshiro and Rei.
Kiba Daiō rules over the Kiba tribe, a group of barbarians who live as predators in the post-apocalyptic world. Clad in animal hides, armed with scimitars and clubs, they attack villages to plunder water, food, slaves and women. The clan shares the same blood, which explains its physical peculiarities: prominent fangs, pallid skin, and sometimes a near-animal appearance.
His most famous sons are Kemada, Gibara, Gojiba and above all Madara, the wolf-man, endowed with an extensible jaw, retractable claws and fur. All of them call Kiba oyaji (親父, papa) and show him fanatical loyalty. The chief mourns his dead and demands retaliation, but does not hesitate to sacrifice his own offspring when his survival is at stake, cynically justifying that he can always sire more.
When the Kibas target the village of Mamiya, she hires Kenshiro and Rei as mercenaries to defend the inhabitants. The situation escalates when Mamiya's younger brother, Kō, is massacred by the clan, and a young boy is mortally wounded during a raid.
Learning from Gojiba that Rei has a missing sister, Airi, who has become the slave of a warlord, Kiba Daiō goes personally to the merchant's lair to retrieve her. The warlord tries to crush him under an enormous boulder, but Kiba shrugs it off with a shrug of his shoulders and kills him with a single blow. He brings Airi back to his mountain fortress to use her as leverage against Rei.
When Kenshiro, Rei and Mamiya arrive at the fortress, Madara unleashes his Kazan Bunretsu Ken on Kenshiro before being struck down. Kiba then threatens Airi with his scimitar, blade against her throat. Mamiya gives herself up as a second hostage, posing as Kenshiro's fiancee, but her weapons prove ineffective against the clan leader.
Kiba orders Rei to kill Kenshiro in exchange for his sister's life. The two masters feign killing each other and collapse to the ground, apparently dead. Triumphant, Kiba has their corpses stabbed to make sure of the result, but the two men have placed themselves in a state of apparent death using a secret technique. They rise again, annihilate the surviving sons of the clan including Gojiba, and free the hostages.
Kiba Daiō then unleashes his art, the Kazan Kakuteigi (華山角抵戯, horn wrestling of Mount Hua), and more specifically its secret technique, the Kazan Kōgai Kohō. Through absolute control of his breathing and musculature, he transforms his skin and flesh into steel. Kenshiro first attempts to strike him with a metal beam, which bends into a U shape without making a dent in the titan.
The successor of Hokuto then identifies the vital point Daikyōkin. A single precise strike on this Keiraku Hikō releases the tensed muscles of the Kibas' leader and instantly nullifies the artificial hardness of his body. Kiba, vulnerable once more, can no longer withstand the blows of Hokuto Shinken.
Stripped of all his sons and his iron shell, Kiba Daiō charges at Kenshiro to drag him along into death. The successor of Hokuto dodges the charge and shatters the giant's spine, sending him plunging into the lava flowing beneath the fortress. The Kiba tribe is extinguished with him.
Rei thus reunites with his sister Airi, and Mamiya's village is liberated. In the 1986 movie, Kiba Daiō makes a cameo as a rival warlord who attempts to halt the invasion of Raoh, and ends up obliterated by the King of Fists' Hokuto Gōshō Ha.
