Hokuto Chronicles moves to version 2. The site is now available in English, its navigation has been completely redesigned, and its visual design has been refined without changing the site’s visual identity. Here is what changes, and what will follow.
The site is now bilingual
The entire site now exists in English, accessible from the language selector at the top of the page, or in the menu if you are browsing on mobile. Articles, features, entries for works, characters, episodes, volumes, figurines, and video games have all been translated, including summaries and reference pages. The translation relies on automated tools, reviewed and corrected. We indicate this at the bottom of each non-French page, as stipulated by our editorial charter, with a link to the original French version.
Navigation by universe
The menu has been rebuilt around five entries: news, Hokuto no Ken, Souten no Ken, Tetsuo Hara, and Buronson. Each universe opens its own summary, with the number of entries available in each section. Sections still in preparation are also listed, marked as such. The site has grown enough that a linear menu is no longer sufficient. The entries existed, but nothing made them accessible; you had to stumble upon them through a search or a link. On mobile, the same tree structure is available, expandable universe by universe.
A refined design and enriched content
The visual overhaul is intentionally light. The colors, background, and page structure have not changed: we simply optimized and refined what already existed. The idea was to give the site a solid foundation, not a new identity.
On the content side, you will find entries for all Hokuto no Ken works, accompanied by their episode or volume entries depending on the format. The figurines section gathers 86 entries, roughly 90% of the franchise’s figurines released to date, and the video games section lists all ports dedicated to the series. Souten no Ken receives the same treatment, on an inevitably smaller body of work. The Tetsuo Hara section provides an entry for each of his works and offers a complete, sourced biography. The section dedicated to Buronson is still a work in progress: for now, you will find his biography, also sourced, and the chronology of his works.
What comes next
Several sections are already announced in the menu and will be opened progressively.
- Databooks and artbooks: one entry per reference book, guides, illustration collections, and supplementary publications. About thirty volumes are already gathered for the first wave.
- Original soundtracks: music from adaptations, series, and films, as well as opening and ending themes. Around 70 entries to create.
- Editions: one entry per edition, whether for manga or video releases.
- Buronson’s works: about a hundred works written alongside some of the greatest artists, whose chronology is already online.
- Sculptors and manufacturers: the craftsmen behind the figurines, whose names appear nowhere else in French.
- A Japanese version: planned for 2027, as a significant portion of our readership already comes from Japan.
Until then, the publication pace remains unchanged: news on a daily basis, figurines on Fridays, and an in-depth feature once a month.
