“お前はもう仕上がっている” (“You are already sculpted”): here is a collaboration with a delightful concept. MUSCLE GATE, the physique competition organized by GOLD’S GYM (Think Fitness) and presented as the gateway to bodybuilding contests in Japan, is partnering with Hokuto no Ken for an unprecedented category.
A “Muscle Cosplay” category in 2027
The campaign’s slogan humorously twists Kenshiro’s famous line “You are already dead” (お前はもう死んでいる) into “You are already sculpted” (お前はもう仕上がっている), where the term 仕上がっている refers, in bodybuilding jargon, to a body perfectly chiseled for competition.
Specifically, MUSCLE GATE is announcing the creation, for the 2027 season, of a special category called “Muscle Cosplay” (マッスルコスプレ部門). Competitors will embody the characters of Hokuto no Ken through their actual physiques, bringing to life, through flesh and muscle, the aura of the franchise’s fighters. A connection that could not be more natural, given that the work of Buronson and Tetsuo Hara has always been associated with overpowering bodies. The relevant competitions, rules, and judging criteria will be announced later through MUSCLE GATE’s official channels.
