Painted trading figures by Kaiyodo, the Seikimatsu Gekitoroku Figure Collection (北斗の拳 世紀末激闘録フィギュアコレクション) rolled out from 2007 to 2008 as an ambitious seven-volume project, recreating the iconic scenes of Hokuto no Ken in its entirety at an accessible size and price point. Seventeen 10 cm figures at 1,100 yen (tax included), sculpted from start to finish by Matsuura Ken, united around a manifesto printed on the back of the boxes: to build a “Hokuto no Ken World” where even supporting characters and guest stars would get their own figure.

The series that went after everyone
Kaiyodo’s ambition was clear: not to settle for just the main heroes but to give form to those characters who, despite their importance in the canon, had never received a figure. The roster of seventeen speaks for itself. Alongside Kenshiro, Raoh, Toki, Rei, and Jagi, the series sculpts Ryuken the master, Yuda of the Nanto Koukaku Ken, Falco and his loyal general Solia, the warden Uighur from Cassandra prison, Kaizer and his Kaioh, Juza, Fudo, a goggled Kenshiro in his Land of Shura version, and finally Heart to close out the series. Characters that very few manufacturers offer.
Seven volumes over two years
Each volume carries a subtitle referencing a key moment of the saga, starting with Vol.1 “Oni no Naku Machi, Cassandra Densetsu” (the city where demons weep, the legend of Cassandra), which launched the series in early 2007 with the trio of Kenshiro / Toki / Uighur. Next came Vol.2 in June 2007 with the pairing of Raoh and his master Ryuken, Vol.3 in August 2007 with the confrontation between Rei and Yuda, Vol.4 in October 2007 with three figures of the Gento general, Vol.5 in December 2007 with the Shura arc and Kaioh, then Vol.6 and Vol.7 throughout 2008, the latter subtitled “Kyofu, Chikara koso Seigi no Seikimatsu” (fear, strength is justice, end-of-century) to wrap up the series with Jagi and Heart. As early as Vol.2, Kaiyodo announced that fifteen prototypes were already completed, proof that the project was planned from start to finish, a rare thing in the world of trading figures.
Finding them today
Long out of production, the series trickles through the Japanese secondary market on Mandarake, Suruga-ya, Yahoo Auctions Japan, and AmiAmi pre-owned. Completing all seventeen references remains an ambitious goal, as secondary characters like Solia, Kaizer, or Ryuken are particularly scarce, and “full comp 全17種” lots immediately attract collector attention whenever they surface. Its spiritual twin on the Souten no Ken side, the Shanghai Buyuroku Figure Collection, applies the same formula to the world of Kasumi Kenshiro.
