Souten no Ken, Volume 4

Thanks to the major capital investments from Europe, the United States, and Japan, the Shanghai of 1935, where the story of Ken, Fist of the Blue Sky, takes place, was then at the peak of its glory, as symbolized by its majestic buildings. But Shanghai was quickly engulfed by the wave of global upheavals of the era: the Japanese army, which had created the State of Manchukuo and thus expanded its rights and interests in China, had to face a unified movement of anti-Japanese nations while Europe was being shaken by the rise of German and Italian fascism. In an increasingly violent Shanghai, what will Kenshirō's life be like? While rendering the atmosphere of that era as faithfully as possible, I try to draw a grand work of fiction.
