What if the nuclear war of 199X had never happened? That is the premise of DD Hokuto no Ken, a parody where Kenshiro and his brothers compete for a job as a clerk in a convenience store. From this wacky spin-off, manufacturer Epoch produced a series of gashapon figures.

The comedic side of Hokuto
Released around 2012, during the manga’s serialization in the pages of Comic Zenon, the line brings together six characters in capsules at three hundred yen. You’ll find Kenshiro and his fearsome brother Raoh, here perfectly harmless, alongside Toki, Jagi, Shin, and Rei. All sport the super-deformed style and easygoing look typical of the parody, a far cry from the muscular warriors of other lines.
Finding them today
These little figures remain easy to find and inexpensive, individually or as a complete set, on Yahoo Auctions, Mercari, and at Suruga-ya. A charming curiosity for anyone who enjoys the humorous side of the saga, and an amusing contrast with the seriousness of premium statues.
