DD Hokuto no Ken
DD Hokuto no Ken is a comedic manga in eight volumes by Kajio, based on the original concept by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara. Serialized in North Stars Pictures' Monthly Comic Zenon, from the inaugural issue (December 2010) to the August 2016 issue, it was collected in volumes under the Zenon Comics label. A founding title of the magazine, the series takes its name from "Design Deformation," the style that reduces characters to silhouettes two to three heads tall.
Synopsis
199X. The world, by nuclear flames... was not engulfed! In the peaceful Japan of the 21st century, the most powerful assassination art leads nowhere. Kenshiro, heir to Hokuto Shinken, works as a taciturn convenience store clerk, Raoh reigns over construction sites, and Toki is looking for a job. Around them, all the familiar faces of the saga appear in distorted versions, with the exception of Rin, Bat, and Yuria, the only ones drawn in normal proportions, and the slightest everyday event turns into an end-of-century showdown.
Everyday life at the end of the century
The founding gag consists of transposing the characters, situations and lines from the original work into the banality of everyday life. The big sports festival pits the Abeshi neighborhood against the Hidebu neighborhood, the Kibaya convenience store stays open day and night, while guests come and go across the volumes: Ryuken referees a contest between his disciples in a sushi restaurant, Ryuga sets up shop in front of the convenience store, Ein devotes himself to the career of his daughter who has become an idol, and Falco runs a home appliance store.
True to this spirit, the final chapter abandons the usual commotion for a more peaceful title, "The Same Old Scenery." The series ultimately ends with one last wink, going so far as to humorously apologize for having eight volumes when the seven stars of the Big Dipper seemed to naturally call for... seven.
An animated adaptation
The series had two short-format anime adaptations. The first aired from April 2013; the second, in 2015, under the title DD Hokuto no Ken 2 Ichigo Aji+, accompanied each episode with short films adapting the manga Hokuto no Ken Ichigo Aji.

The series is collected in eight volumes, published between June 2011 and August 2016. Unreleased in France, it is presented here with summaries translated from Japanese by us.
