Hokuto no Ken Gaiden : Tensai Amiba no Isekai Hao Densetsu
Hokuto no Ken Gaiden : Tensai Amiba no Isekai Hao Densetsu ("The Legend of the Other World's Conqueror, the Genius Amiba") is a parody manga written by Nishiki Sokura and illustrated by Nattougohan, based on an original concept by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara. Prepublished in Monthly Comic Zenon from December 2021 to January 2025 and compiled in nine volumes, it transports Amiba, the most famous fake genius of the saga, into a heroic fantasy world. The work has not been released in France.
Synopsis
Hokuto no Ken and isekai, the forbidden fusion!! And the hero is... Amiba!!! The man who wields Hokuto Shinken as well as Nanto Seiken and learns any martial art faster than anyone else, the genius Amiba!! Defeated by Kenshiro, the rightful successor of Hokuto Shinken, he meets his end... or so it was believed, for he awakens without explanation in another world!? The great adventure of the fist genius in another world begins...!?
The canon put through the other world's grinder
Condemned by Kenshiro's Hokuto Zankai Sekiho Ken to step backward into the void from the top of his tower, Amiba disappears with his famous "uwaraba" before waking up in a world populated by dragons, punk-crested goblins, and magic academies. Yet despite this change of universe, he remains perfectly true to himself. A self-proclaimed genius before becoming, against all odds, a genuine hero, he renames a modest fire spell "Nishi Rengoku Ha," proves unable to light the smallest campfire, demands to be called "Mr. Hero," and even ends up being crowned king.
Around him orbits a gallery of characters that humorously transposes the Hokuto no Ken canon. Among them are Ririn, a young outspoken magician who calls him "uncle," Tolkien, a great mage with the face of Toki, the young Pat, and Rou, a masked demon swordsman who is none other than an amnesiac Jagi. The Four Heavenly Kings of the Demon King's army also feature several nods, with a Yuda lookalike, the ogre Budo with Fudo's build, and Demon Emperor Sauzan, whose features immediately recall Souther. On the opposing side, the army of humanity is led by a Queen Yuria, while the quest leads all the way to the ancient ruins of Renkitoza. Even the chapter titles adopt the characteristic cadence of the original anime's episodes, down to the famous double exclamation marks.
The in-house specialist of parodic spin-offs
Announced in October 2021 under a deliberately self-deprecating subtitle, ultimately dropped later on: "Even in another world I'm a genius!! Huh!? I was wrong...?", the series immediately drew attention by making Amiba the hero of an official isekai. The writing was entrusted to Nishiki Sokura, an author well-versed in parodies, who has been writing Kyo kara City Hunter since 2017, the official comedic spin-off of Tsukasa Hojo's City Hunter. The work also maintains ties with the franchise's video games. At the end of 2022, a collaborative manga accompanied the release of Fit Boxing Hokuto no Ken, in which an Amiba who has grown flabby during his stay in the other world resumes training, before a dedicated event was organized in Hokuto no Ken Legends ReVive in the spring of 2023. The series concluded in January 2025 after thirty-nine chapters, with the crowning of its unlikely hero.
