Boss
Boss is a character appearing in the manga Gokuaku no Hana - Hokuto no Ken : Jagi Gaiden. Leader of a biker gang in the post-apocalyptic world of Hokuto no Ken, he takes in Jagi after the latter's flight from the Hokuto dojo. Behind his appearance as a typical brutal biker gang leader, Boss turns out to be a man deeply devoted to his sister Anna and one of the rare individuals to accept Jagi despite his violence and instability.
The biker gang leader
In Jagi Gaiden, Boss leads a group of bikers surviving in the devastated wastelands after the nuclear war. Accustomed to the violence of the new world, he quickly recognizes how dangerous Jagi is but nevertheless chooses to offer him a place among his people.
Unlike many gang leaders in the Hokuto no Ken universe, Boss is not portrayed as a mere bloodthirsty tyrant. He acts above all as a protector of the members of his group and particularly of his young sister Anna, whom he seeks to shelter from the surrounding chaos.
The link with Jagi
After leaving the Hokuto dojo, Jagi temporarily joins Boss's gang in order to find refuge far from Ryuken, Kenshiro and the other heirs of Hokuto Shinken. Boss accepts his presence despite his violent temperament, while Anna gradually develops a very close relationship with him.
As the story unfolds, Boss comes to understand that Jagi is consumed by a deep sense of inferiority and a growing hatred toward Kenshiro. Even though he does not share his destructive ambitions, he remains one of the few characters able to see the human being hidden behind the future criminal that Jagi will become.
The attack and death of Anna
After the nuclear war, Boss's gang is attacked by raiders who have become particularly violent. During this assault, Boss loses his arm while trying to defend his sister, but Anna is captured nonetheless. She initially manages to escape before being caught again and then mortally brutalized in the desert. Anna manages to make it back to the Hokuto dojo where she dies in the arms of Kenshiro, whom she mistakes for Jagi.
When Jagi discovers Anna's death, he falls into an uncontrollable rage and massacres those responsible. Boss, devastated by his sister's death and having lost his arm, never sees Jagi again. This tragedy definitively marks the breaking point of Jagi's humanity and accelerates his descent into madness and hatred.
