Great news for fans visiting Tokyo this fall: a special exhibition dedicated to Hokuto no Ken – Fist of the North Star will be held at Anime Tokyo Station, the animation exhibition space managed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, from August 22 to November 8, 2026.
The History of the Series and Behind the Scenes of the 2026 Anime
Announced by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, this exhibition traces the history of Hokuto no Ken, the legendary action manga written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara, first serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump starting in 1983. Beyond this retrospective, it especially highlights the new animated series that premiered in spring 2026.
Visitors will be able to explore production documents (setting materials), videos showcasing the various stages of the anime’s creation, as well as photo panels revisiting the most memorable scenes from the series. A chance to dive behind the scenes of this new adaptation brought to life by a new team and the latest imaging technologies.

The exhibition also features interactive digital content: a “character diagnosis” that, based on a few questions, reveals which Hokuto no Ken character best matches your personality. A fun activity to discover which end-of-century warrior lies dormant within you.
