Coamix is organizing an event in Kumamoto that should make many envious: for 500 yen per day, barely three euros, the Kumamoto Manga Arts offers a screening of the entire Shin Kyuseishu Densetsu Hokuto no Ken pentalogy. The event, titled “Hokuto no Ken from morning to evening,” is held over thirteen dates spread throughout the month of September 2026.
All five installments on the program
The Shin Kyuseishu Densetsu series, produced between 2006 and 2008, alternates between feature films and OVAs to revisit the work through the lens of some of its iconic characters. The five installments are screened in the following order:
- Raoh Den Jun’ai no Sho (2006, feature film)
- Yuria Den (2007, OVA)
- Raoh Den Gekito no Sho (2007, feature film)
- Toki Den (2008, OVA)
- ZERO Kenshiro Den (2008, feature film)
Thirteen dates, two formats
All screenings begin at 11:00 AM. The schedule distinguishes between days dedicated to a single title, which end around 1:00 PM, and full marathons chaining all five installments until approximately 7:30 PM.
- September 3: Raoh Den Jun’ai no Sho
- September 5: complete series
- September 10: Yuria Den
- September 12 and 13: complete series
- September 17: Raoh Den Gekito no Sho
- September 20, 21, and 23: complete series
- September 24: Toki Den
- September 26 and 27: complete series
- September 29: ZERO Kenshiro Den
The 500 yen fee covers the entire day, regardless of the number of films watched, and attendees are allowed to leave and re-enter the theater. A registration form is available online, but the organizer notes that viewers can also show up on the day itself without a reservation.
A stamp rally and figurines up for grabs
Each film watched earns a stamp on a booklet, which gradually transforms into a personalized “end of the world certificate.” Visitors who manage to collect all five stamps, and thus watch the entire pentalogy, take home a set of mini figurines of Kenshiro and Raoh. Coamix specifies that the base visible in the promotional visuals is not included.
Kumamoto rice up for grabs on X
A parallel campaign is being held on the Kumamoto Manga Arts X account. Simply follow the account and repost the dedicated message; quoting the post with the event’s keyword increases the chances of winning.
The prize, awarded to a single winner, is not without humor: it consists of whole grain rice produced in Kumamoto Prefecture, packaged in a pouch imitating a burlap sack, and presented as the famous rice seeds of Misumi. Coamix takes care to specify that the product is indeed intended for consumption and is not actual seeds, before adding a warning: be careful not to have it stolen by Zeed.
Practical information
The screenings are held at Kumamoto Manga Arts, a venue dedicated to manga and merchandise operated by Coamix, located in the basement of the Taigeki Kaikan, in the Chuo ward of Kumamoto.
