Works by Tetsuo Hara
Since winning the Fresh Jump prize in 1982, Tetsuo Hara has built a body of work reaching far beyond the post-apocalyptic story he is usually associated with. Around Hokuto no Ken stand three early short stories published that same year, a first motocross series cut short after six chapters, a foray into cyberpunk science fiction, and above all a long cycle of historical frescoes adapted from the novels of Keiichirō Ryū, from Hana no Keiji to SAKON. To these are added a yakuza thriller, a satire of political power, a saga devoted to the youth of Oda Nobunaga, and an illustrated children’s story distributed free of charge in Japan for the past twenty years. This section brings together all of the works drawn or created by Tetsuo Hara outside the Hokuto universe, sorted by category, from his 1982 debut to his most recent projects.
