Double announcement from the mobile game Hokuto no Ken: LEGENDS ReVIVE (published by Sega). A new multiplayer event “Alliance vs Alliance! Alliance Battle!” has launched with three original themed teams to assemble, and the Japanese version of the game has also confirmed the promotion to higher rarity of Akashachi (赤鯱) starting May 22, with a dedicated gacha the following day.
An Alliance Battle Event with three original themes
The new multiplayer event requires players to assemble three different teams according to specific rules:
- Party A – Group of Deep Love: only masters belonging to the “Deep Love” thematic group (characters tied to the series’ most memorable love stories, particularly around Yuria).
- Party B – Shura no Kuni Arc: only masters from the Land of Shura (Kaioh, Hyoh, Shachi, Han, etc.).
- Party C – SR Fist Masters: only SR (Super Rare) rarity characters.
The goal is to achieve the best rankings through the consistency and complementarity of the teams formed. This themed format favors veteran players with a varied collection rather than those focused solely on recent SSRs.
Aka Shachi promoted to higher rarity
Alongside the Union Battle, the Japanese version of the game has just announced a perfectly timed addition: Aka Shachi (赤鯱), one of the iconic members of the Shura arc, will be promotable to higher rarity starting from the maintenance on Friday, May 22, 2026.
To celebrate this promotion, an event gacha featuring the character will launch on Saturday, May 23, 2026. A great opportunity for players aiming for Party B of the Union Battle, as Akashachi now becomes a strong option for building a competitive Shura no Kuni team.
An ideal strategic convergence
The timing of these two announcements is likely no coincidence. The inclusion of the Shura arc in the Alliance Battle challenge, combined with the promotion of one of its secondary characters right after, sends a clear signal. Sega wants to put this arc back in the spotlight within the game’s strategy.
This is great news for hardcore Hokuto no Ken fans who often regret that the post-Raoh arcs are underrepresented in modern adaptations. Seeing Shachi, Kaioh, or Han brought back to the forefront through the game’s competitive events is an elegant way to do them justice.
