Souten no Ken Regenesis and Hokuto no Ken LEGENDS ReVIVE are teaming up for an unprecedented collaboration, set to launch on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. On the agenda: a new LR fighter, rarity upgrades for four Souten no Ken characters, exclusive content, and a commemorative title screen unveiled for the occasion.
Kasumi Kenshiro, new LR fighter
The centerpiece of the event is the arrival of a new LR-rank fighter: Kasumi Kenshiro “Souten no Kagayaki” (霞拳志郎 蒼天の輝き, “the brilliance of the blue sky”), Technique type. The official visual shows him surrounded by a blue energy aura, in a pose drawing from the iconography of Regenesis. His arrival is announced for September 22.
Four rarity upgrades for Souten no Ken fighters
The collaboration also includes the implementation of rarity upgrades for four fighters from Souten no Ken: Liu Zongwu, Zhang Taiyan, Liu Feiyan, and Kasumi Kenshiro. An event gacha allowing players to obtain each of them is planned, and Sega has announced the distribution of 150 UR fragments per fighter at the time of their dedicated gacha, to mark the rollout of the system.
A rerun of the previous Souten no Ken collaboration is also scheduled, running alongside the new one.
Tsuji Hideki directly involved in the production
This is the most notable point of the announcement. In a message posted on his personal account, Tsuji Hideki, artist of Souten no Ken Regenesis, states that the project had been in preparation behind the scenes for several months. He specifies that he created new character illustrations inspired by scenes from the manga, and also contributed to the supervision of animations and the storyboards for special moves.
A level of involvement that goes beyond simple license approval, and that sheds light on the tone of the calligraphed teaser published a few days earlier.
Additional content and schedule
In addition to the new fighter, the collaboration brings limited-time events, exclusive home screen backgrounds, and talismans featuring the colors of Regenesis. A special commemorative title screen was unveiled as a preview in the announcement video.
Sega has also shared its broadcast schedule. An update video is expected around mid-September, featuring a presentation of Kasumi Kenshiro “Souten no Kagayaki”‘s abilities, details on a campaign offering shikishi reproductions of autographed line art drawings, and additional information about the collaboration. A second video is planned around mid-October, with the announcement of a new fighter from Regenesis, additional information, and the publication of a roadmap. Sega notes that this content remains subject to change or postponement depending on development progress.
