Sega has announced the return of Ryūga in his “The Celestial Wolf Who Judged His Era” (時代を見定めし天狼) variant in the mobile game Hokuto no Ken Legends ReVIVE. This limited session runs from June 8 to 15, 2026 and features two separate gachas, including a free daily rotation. A new opportunity for players to try to obtain one of the rarest incarnations of this iconic character from the franchise.
Ryūga, the Solitary Celestial Wolf
Ryūga (リュウガ) is the successor of Taizan Tenrō-ken (泰山天狼拳) and the central antagonist of the arc that bears his name, set between the Yuda arc and the Nanto Goshasei arc. A lieutenant of Raoh, he represents the star Tenrō, the solitary Celestial Wolf, a star independent of the Hokuto and Nanto constellations. A late revelation in the story, Ryūga is actually the biological older brother of Yuria
The Event Gacha, with one free pull per day
The first gacha launched for the occasion is an Event Gacha where each pull delivers six items. Good news for players: one free pull is offered daily throughout the entire session, providing a regular chance to obtain the fighter without spending premium currency.
A bonus probability is built into the mechanism: with each pull, a special slot may appear, allowing players to obtain Ryūga or other targeted fighters with their Shichisei Kaihō tier already unlocked at level 4. Characters whose rarity can be upgraded are then delivered at UR grade. In the case of duplicates, extra copies of Ryūga are automatically converted into “LR Fragments”, usable to strengthen the character.
The Grimoire Gacha and its guarantee system
The second gacha, the Grimoire Gacha (奥義書ガチャ, Ougi-sho Gacha), allows players to obtain secret technique grimoires that unlock fighters’ ougi. Pulls can be done individually or in packs of ten, with no difference in drop rates.
The system includes a cumulative gauge that fills with each pull, capped at 200: on the 200th pull, a grimoire is guaranteed. The gauge is not reset if a grimoire drops before reaching the cap, which secures the player’s progression. Note, however: the accumulated gauge does not carry over to other Grimoire Gachas once the session ends.
Cumulative pull bonuses
Both gachas come with bonuses tied to the number of pulls made. The Event Gacha bonus offers rewards, including copies of Ryūga, based on the number of pulls completed. Meanwhile, the Grimoire Gacha bonus guarantees the targeted character’s grimoire once 300 pulls are reached. Bonus rewards must be claimed before June 16, 2026 (4:59 AM), or they will be lost.
