SEGA has published Director’s Letter Vol.08 for Hokuto no Ken LEGENDS ReVIVE, signed by Director Uematsu. On the agenda for this late June edition: the month’s recap, the arrival of a new fighter, and details on July events, highlighted by the major “Super July Month” campaign and the approach of the game’s 7th anniversary.
June recap
The director first looks back at the highlights of June. The month was marked by the “Choose Your Rival” campaign and the rarity upgrade of Ryūken “Ruthless Master”, who came in first in the player vote. To thank participants and allow as many players as possible to add Ryūken to their teams, ReVIVE fragments were given to all players.
The end of the month also saw the rarity upgrade of the non-combatant fighter Rui (Tentei Rui, the Celestial Empress), Rin’s sister. She is the second non-combatant fighter eligible for a rarity upgrade, after Rin “She Who Lives for Love,” who appeared in late April. Since Rui and Rin have very different characteristics, they allow for varied team compositions depending on opponents, whether in the “Secret Fist Arena” mode or in the Renki Tōza.
New fighter: Juza “The Unleashed Freestyle Fist”
Starting June 30, a new fighter makes his entrance: Juza “The Unleashed Freestyle Fist” (ジュウザ 荒ぶる我流の拳), a Power type fighter eligible for a rarity upgrade. He is an attacker capable of breaking through enemy defensive effects to prioritize eliminating the least protected fighters, thereby hastening victory.
In terms of abilities, his secret art unconditionally grants piercing effects, allowing him to deal direct damage to enemies. By lifting the damage cap imposed on enemy Power type fighters, he makes non-reducible damage effective, enabling him to take down fighters that cannot be hit normally. The more special techniques he triggers, the more he unleashes his destiny and enhances his offensive performance. Once the LR Seven Stars liberation is fully completed, his effects extend to all enemy fighters, making the battle even more difficult for the opponent.
Juza is featured in an End of the Century Ranking Gacha, from June 30 to July 7, where he is available in rarities UR ☆4 to ☆7. Each pull earns points granting access to tiered rewards, including Juza fragments and universal fragments. A login bonus also offers up to ten character fragments. Running alongside this are a “Hundred Rending Fists Challenge” (Hyakuretsu Challenge), allowing players to collect celestial stones until July 5, as well as a gacha dedicated to Secret Technique Books.
July schedule: the Super July Month campaign
As every year, July brings the Super July Month campaign (超七ノ月キャンペーン), a nod to the number “7” of the month, which resonates especially with the world of Hokuto no Ken. Throughout the event, a login bonus allows players to receive, simply by logging in, a “UR fragment selection box” granting access to the fragment of their choice among the Four Hokuto Brothers: Toki “The Hour of the Oath,” Raoh “The Giant Who Seeks to Grasp the Heavens,” Kenshiro “The Fist That Stopped the Conqueror King,” and Jagi, the third brother.
By logging in every day during the period, players can collect the equivalent of 980 UR fragments in total. Many other items useful for progression are also on the schedule, alongside a dedicated exchange counter, an end of the century bingo, and various loot events.
July also brings the rarity upgrade of Hyō, the Second Rasho, who came in second place in the vote held for the 6.5th anniversary. A collection event is planned, and all players who log in during the period will receive 150 Hyō fragments, usable for the character’s ReVIVE, LR rarity upgrade, or progression.
Heading toward the 7th anniversary
The letter finally confirms that the 7th anniversary of Hokuto no Ken LEGENDS ReVIVE is approaching, set for September 5, 2026. A “70-day countdown login bonus” is already underway to prepare for the event. This anniversary is all the more symbolic given that the number “7” is iconic to Hokuto no Ken.
The director announces that the next Director’s Letter (Vol.09) will be released in video format, and will reveal the new fighters and events for August, as well as the first details about this 7th anniversary. The team says it is fully committed to making this anniversary a highlight for players.
