“You already have it in hand!!” Playing on this twist of the most famous line from the series, the official online shop for the grand 40th anniversary original artwork exhibition has just opened. The official catalog and all the merchandise created for the exhibition are now available without having to visit the museum counter. Here is an overview of the product lineup.
The official catalog and its exclusive interviews
The centerpiece of the shop, the official catalog (¥3,500) features all of the roughly 400 original artwork pages displayed in the exhibition. Most importantly, it contains special interviews that cannot be read anywhere else: those with Buronson on the script, Tetsuo Hara on the art, and Horie Nobuhiko on editing.
Apparel, bags, and fashion accessories
The clothing section highlights iconic quotes and emblems. Two T-shirts share the spotlight: one featuring Souther‘s “My destiny,” and the other covered in the death cries that made the series famous. The hoodie is dedicated to Fudô, while the necktie features an all-over pattern of Jagi‘s helmet. As for bags, the crossbody model bears the name “Shôten,” meaning ascension.
For home and office
The home goods range primarily draws on the imagery of the Seitei and the Kenoh army, from a cross-shaped cushion to a floor mat, along with a whisky glass and a smartphone stand where Shu carries the cross on his back.
Stationery, acrylics, and keychains
Small items make up the bulk of the catalog, including bookmarks featuring iconic quotes, an acrylic stand shaped like a manga panel, and an acrylic cross dedicated to Toki. More unexpectedly, a goshuin notebook lets you collect temple and shrine stamps in the series’ colors.
Curiosities and random products
This category is where the most entertaining finds are hiding, starting with the Yuda bath salts, whose name plays on the homophony between the character and the expression “it’s a bath.” The omikuji stickers replace shrine fortunes with death cries and an “end-of-century great misfortune.”
Numbered illustration reproductions
At the other end of the catalog, five high-definition inkjet art reproductions are available at ¥55,000 each.
Practical information
Purchases are limited to five units per item per order, and available quantities are limited. Once an item is sold out, no preorders or restocks are planned. Orders are shipped within ten days via Yamato Transport, with shipping fees ranging from ¥800 to ¥1,500 depending on the region, and payment is made by credit card. A note for European collectors: since the shop only ships within Japan, you will need to use a forwarding service.
